FAQ
Live Races
As we all know, CSR2 match making system is misleading, as well as game is punishing you if you are winning often (seeding you into the lobby's with cars running way faster than yours and lowering RP to the point when Regulation races getting more attractive then Live races). The best strategy is to force game to seed you into the one of the top T5 lobbies (TopShift members should tune to 8.6 or 9.1 seconds for ½ mile). In this lobby you have higher chances of finding crew mates for farming (trade wins) during any time of the day, and especially during wildcards. First of all you would need to select a car (please see Cars section for details). Then upgrade, fuse and tune your car to dyno a ½ mile at 8.6 or 9.1 seconds. Please remember. that if you win often, you'll be seeded into a lobby with faster cars, so it's definetely better to exchange wins (farm).
Cars
The simplest cars to upgrade and make it qualify for the 9.1 seconds
T5 lobby are 3-star F12 (Ferrari Berlinetta) and 3-star Lamborghini Huracan.
Both cars, once they are maxed out, are capable of running even below 8.9 and 8.8 seconds
accordingly. The main reason why those two cars are easy to max out. It's due to the fact that you can buy non-star versions for in-game cash and strip them for S6
upgrades and fusion parts. Please don't install your S6 upgrades to the regular
car (with no rarity stars); it will cost tons of gold to remove S6 parts thereafter. Maxed
out - means that all stage 6 upgrades are installed as well as all fusion slots
are filled with the parts. Note: if, by any chance, you have a 5-star LB Huracan, then you should be very happy, this is a 4th fastest car in the game and it runs below 8.3 seconds, but please still tune to 8.6s or 9.1s lobby for farming with crew mates.
Just remember, don't strip rare cars out, unless it's a duplicate and NEVER sell cars and fusion parts to get some in-game cash, it's a rip-off (as well as gold keys, but please see section Crates for more information about it). Please don't buy cars with gold coins (unless it's absolutely necessary), it's better to keep gold coins for buying the fuel.
As for F12 and Huracan: Huracan is running slightly faster than F12, but F12 shifting pattern is definitely more comfortable and much more forgiving. You have to be perfect with Huracan in order to run faster than 9 seconds.
A link to the list with the fastest cars is on the home
page in our blog. Just search for the word 'fastest' on the home page and then
click on the word 'here' at the end of the line. The list is covering rare (with
stars) cars only. Please note that it's not necessary for you to dream about
LaFerrari. And unless you already have all the S6 upgrades for LaFerrari, it
might take ages of time and tons of real cash to max LaFerrari out. The same is
true for all three fastest cars: LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spider and Regera. In
addition, most of the players are refusing to race those cars (unless your name
is clearly indicating that you are ready to exchange wins) as well as you'll be
getting a lower RP by default in short racing sessions. For the longer sessions,
with the crew mates, you should always balance RP prior to the trading. Always
make sure that your car is customized and you are getting freshness bonus,
otherwise you'll be getting 10% RP less. Elite cars are also bringing an extra 10% RP.
Tuning
Please note that it's bogus to try each other's tunes, unless car is maxed out. Here are the possible tunes for maxed out F12 (PP: 714, EP:+1242) and Huracan (PP: 713, EP:+1575).
F12 - Nitro 400/5.5, Transmission 3.00, Tires 30/70. ½ dyno time is 9.371, but it constantly runs below 8.95, just start with the wheelspin at 7000 rpm.
Huracan - Nitro 465/5.3, Transmission 3.38, Tires 32/68. ½ dyno time is 8.3, but it's hard to run below 8.5.
Huge thanks to US Navy for helping us with the tunes! But again, please tune to 9.1 seconds to be in the same lobby with most of TopShift crew mates.
RP Trading/Farming
In order to get a better RP it's absolutely crucial to exchange wins. First of all add 1W/1L or Trade RP or 🔄 to your name and look for the players with the same prefix/suffix/postfix in the name. Some of them might refuse your invitation to race, especially if they are waiting for their crew mates for farming during a wildcard activation. Once the race is accepted, most of the players are looking at RP after the first race. If your car is running much slower than the car of the other player (for example 9.9 seconds vs. 8.9 seconds), then he/she will be getting a very low RP and might consider to do not continue racing/rematch after the first W/L exchange. It's always better to farm with the players from your own crew; in that case all RP goes to our crew.
There is a small amount (<10%) of players who doesn't
want to trade wins (even when their name indicates it), they just winning one
or two races in a row and leaving. Many players don't like to race/farm against
LaFerrari, because all in the hands of LaFerrari owners, and if they (owners of
LaFerrari) want to win every race, they'll do it until you refuse the race. That's
one of the reasons why you'll get better chances to find a good opponent with
more popular F12 and Huracan, then with LaFerrari.
RP balancing and wildcards
It's always preferable to farm with your crew mate (especially during wildcards). If you are farming with your crew mate, it's better to always balance the RP first. With no wildcard activated, the average RP you should be getting per win in 'unlimited' T5 lobby is around 1275 for the 3-star rarity car. So, if you are getting less than 1250 you should let your partner to win at least twice in a row. Each win balances around 100 RP points. So, if I'm getting 9xx, then I should let my partner to win 3 times in a row (12xx-9xx)/100 = 3 times. It's always better to decide how to balance based on at least 2 wins (4 races when farming).
When wildcard is activate, then RP balancing, will be
very similar to the regular one, you'll just need to add wildcard % to the
standard values. If 1275 is a standard RP for win without wildcard, then, with
70% wildcard it will be around 2150 (1275 x 1.7) = 2167. And each win will
balance around 170 RP points. Of course these calculations are not ideal, but
should give you some idea on how to balance the RP.
Always make sure that your car is getting a freshness bonus before trading, otherwise you'll be getting 10% RP less and numbers will be to some extent misleading.
CSR2 has a well known bug, that even when WC is activated you still won't be getting RP gain. In that case, just navigate to the WC page in Crew Hangout. After that wildcard RP gain will be immediately propagated to your profile.
Android issues
Starting from the version 1.9 the Live Races are
constantly crashing on most of the Android devices. Until it gets fixed, it's
recommended to race in Regulation races during WC while watching a movie ;-)
Gold Crates
I'll start this section with the most important information - gold crates/keys are the huge rip-off. Don't buy gold keys unless it's on the sale (~90% discount). There are plenty videos on YouTube when people are getting 3-star cars in 90% of the pulls with 40% being duplicates. 5-star cars are extremely rare, and it's better to pull gold crates only if there is a 5x, 10x, 20x or 25x chance on getting the car you really need. At random times, for some loyal players, you'll be getting 20x chance on LaFerrari, but there is no guarantee that it will be ever offered to you.
Silver Crates
That's more interesting. Once you have a car to race in unlimited T5 lobby, you should really be saving silver keys for Prestige Cup cars only. Try to always have at least 1000-1500 silver keys (20-30 pulls) on you, that way you'll be pretty confident that you'll get a Prestige Cup car while it's on 5x or 10x chance during the first days of the championship. Some players recommending pulling all silver keys all at once until you get Prestige Cup car. It worked well for me, but it's all up to you. You won't be offered silver keys promotions often, but the best way to collect silver keys is to compete daily cups, daily battles (every 4 hours) as well as Live challenges (every 8 hours). You should be able to get at least 20 silver keys per day in Live challenges. Just win 1 race in the morning, and in the evening second challenge will start right after the first one, you won't need to wait another 8 hours for it. But you would need to enter into the lobby in order to reset a challenge counter after first 15 wins.
P.S. Of course, if you have more than 1000-1500 keys, you can pull silver crates from time to time just for fun.
Bronze Crates
It's better to collect keys (at least 1000) and pull all at once. Please also don't forget to pull a free bronze crate every 4 hours.
Original Story Mode
You don't need to have super nitro to win boss cars and you'll be given only one chance to win the boss car. Just make sure you can constantly run below these times and your phone is charged and connected to internet:
T1 - KJ's Toyota 86 Rocket Bunny - 13.3s
T2 - Ashleigh's CLA 45 AMG - 12.0s
T3 - Kurtz's Mustang HPE750 - 10.5s
T4 - Victor's Project 7 - 14.1s
T5 - Shax's Agera R - 11.9s
Please note that winning a boss car doesn't mean that you'll be able to complete Ladder Races in the tier controlled by boss, some ladder races will require you to get more upgrades/fusions to complete.
Tempest challenge #1
For Tempest challenge you'll need at least two fast cars in every tier: one to obtain the license and second one to race. You should really use the slower out of two to obtain license and the faster one to complete challenges. Here is the time to win cars of Tempest bosses:
T1 - Angel's Honda Civic 1.5 VTEC - 12.3s (based on some reports Angela might run at 11.9s)
T2 - Shana's Range Rover Evoque - 11.0s.
T3 - Amelia's LB M4 Coupe - 9.9s.
T4 - KJ's GT-R NISMO R35 - 13.3s.
T5 - Larry's GTA Spano - 10.9s.
TIPS from Reddit (EternalLegendX): Make sure you are committed to the car you lock in. Switching cars mid-series will cost you 200 gold.
Tempest challenge #2
T1 - 12.0s
T2 - 10.2s
T3 - 9.0s
T4 - 13.0s
T5 - 10.6s
